In 1984 I went down to Athens, Georgia to visit my friends, make a film (Just Like a Movie), and shoot rolls of photos of R.E.M. as they got ready to release their album Reckoning. Here they are chowing down at Walter's Bar-B-Que, an Athens institution. This photograph will be exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum (WHO SHOT ROCK & ROLL) and a copy also hangs in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum... right outside the cafeteria, I hear.
